Hi Tina,

I’m all for celebrating birthdays. Victoria sponge cake, beer, and if you’re lucky a barbecue too. Whilst I was scoffing down some cake at my friend’s birthday recently, it got me thinking about one seemingly special one in particular:

The HUGE 21st birthday.

But why does the 21st birthday still carry so much significance and is this sentiment shared all the way across the globe? We went on a search to find out.

April 26th was "Hug an Australian Day." So, to inspire you to cuddle the Aussies you know we took a look at six of the land Down Under's most hug-worthy achievements.

Enjoy! There are some rippers, mate!

THIS MONTH’S MOST CURIOUS ARTICLE

After April’s traditional showers turned into snow storms and a heatwave in the UK, you can sigh with relief now that May’s arrived.

Besides, there are far more exciting things to be concerned with than whether to wear a coat or shorts. Like celebrating birthdays!

From super smellers to chart-topping singers, see what sort of people are born in May.
